Heyyy! How has everyone been this week! I know this is a lil early to say, but I hope you are all excited for the General Conference that will be coming up in April! I am already hoping so bad that I will be able to watch it in english!! I guess we will see what happens.
But man the other day our lider misional de nuestro barrio (ward mission leader) told us his conversion story, and it was the craziest thing ever! I wont be able to write it because it would be like 10 pages, but I hope one day that he will be able to make a book out of it, I cant wait to tell you guys about it in person, maybe D can publish it for him ;) haha jk.
So to begin we have the funny story of the week! And the victim this week is Elder Nae!!! The comp of Elder Bakri. He is from Samoa but he was born in the USA. This week we had service with this man, helping him carry bricks up some stairs. So the first person to grab bricks is Elder Nae, he grabs about 6 bricks which was a lot but he is a pretty big buy, so it was no problem for him. So he's got his six bricks and he starts making his way towards the stairs and he struggling a little bit trying to make all of them balance, but he mangages to get up the first stair, but by the second step the stairs start to move a little bit, and when we puts his foot down for the third step, the stair gives out and all the bricks that elder nae was holding go flyin in the air and each one broke in half as it hit the ground haha. We all look at the bricks and then look at the man, and instead of getting mad, he just said ahh no pasa nada (ahh it doesnt matter) Haha so victim this week, Elder Nae.
Also this week we found an awesome family! About 2 weeks ago we had spoken with a man in a little shop after buying some soap and all the good stuff, and we had left him with a folleto de la restauracion, not thinking much of it. This week when I was walking in the street, I had a strong impression that we should go stop by his house, we went, and we saw him just sitting outside his little garage. I said, hey how´s it going, and he goes hey! come in! Elder Vargas and I were pretty shocked, cause its not to common here that someone just invites you in your house. He started taking about his family and he had read el folleto! He a super awesome guy and his kids are super funny! So we will see how it goes this week!
To finish, I just to leave you guys with a scripture that I found this week in 2 kings 6:16 that says "no tengas miedo, porque es mas lo que esta con nosotros que lo que esta con ellos." I was thinking the other day about what is our real power as members of the church of Jesus Christ, and the first thing that came to my mind was our testimony. It was our testimonies that cast out satan and his angels in the war in heaven. And its always good to not forget, that we fought and we WON the opportunity to experiment the life that we fought for. And even better to remember, the real trick is to keep fighting for the team that we fought for since the beginning. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and I know that as FAITHFUL members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we are apart of his celestial team and we will return to our celestial home.
