How has everyone been this last week!? I saw in your emails that the weather is warming up a little bit and that all the snow is going away! Nooo I was going to ask you guys to send some in a package haha chaste, but the weather here isn't too bad now a days I am hoping it starts to go down a lil bit a tempature cause it feels like it has been summer forever! But this wednesday we are all going to Montevideo for a conferencia de zona and... we going to the temple!!!!! Oh yeahh! It will be the second time in the Montevideo temple! I will tell you guys all about it next week!
So the victim for funny story of the week goes to Elder Vargas!! Haha this week after church we had lunch with a family, honestly in the middle of no where! Or as dad would like to say it...in the middle of tim buck too! haha. After we finished, we started a little adventure going though some fields, trying to make it back home. We had to cross some rivers and make some home made bridges to get across, but when we got to the very end, all that was left was one little fence. Elder Vargas went to jump over first, so while I was watching we carefully puts his nice rubber boots on first, and while he puts his hand on to jump.. he found out that its more than a fence hahaha! Right when his hand touches he goes ahhhhhhhhh!! che che che! Turned out to be an electric fence in disguise haha. After Elder Vargas lost the feeling in the left side of his body for all while, but after about an 30 minutes it all came back.
So this week we had some awesome lessions with the family of Alex! I don't know if you remember them, but he was that read half of the Book of Mormon and said he didn't like it. But this last week we read together with him, and one of the passages that we read was the venida de cristo a las americas. After we finished with the chapter, he said the sweetest, chocolate with a cherry on top, words that I could ever imagine. He said I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and it is another weapon that I have together with the bible. It was awesome to hear those words. He will be getting baptized, but not for a while because he always has to work in Montevideo every other week. Also this week went perfectly with the family of Clarice and Walter, he will be getting baptized this coming saturday! After we will be working straight with there two sons! So they should be getting baptized pretty soon after him!
To finish I just want to leave you with something that i noticed when we elder vargas and i were coming back to the house at night, we were walking of up a hill that was pretty rocky, but half the hill was lighten up thanks to a street lamp at the top, but the other half was dark. At the start i found myself on the dark sad of the hill tripping and falling over rocks, but then I realized how easy it would be to avoid all the rocks when you can see them. I then started thinkin about the mission and how life is. Life was the hill, the light was the gospel and the rocks were all the dangers and temptations that we can avoid thanks to the light. We know that life is a lil bit difficult because we will always be going uphill, but thanks to the gospel that we have, it can be so much easier, we can avoid all those dangers and pitfalls, because we can see them! And we know how they disguise themselves. "Faith is not the light at the end of the tunnel, rather the light that leads us through the tunnel." I love that quote.
I also love you all fam and friends!
Thanks for all your love and support!
