Week 35: I have been developing patience, knowing that I am not alone.

Hey how is everybody doing again!?

I hope you all had a great day of love with the ones you love! To start out i just want to say I love all you guys so much!! I really couldnt be doing the things I am doing if I didnt have the love and support of all you guys! So I just want to say I love you guys again! And thanks for spreadin the love. Also to spread the love even more, Jose mello (super cool member) asked me if you guys could get him some bball shorts of BYU (one pair white and the other blue) he said he would pay for it.

So the funny story of the week goes to Elder Torres! Haha he only came to our house for one day because the comp of Elder El Bakri had to go to Montevideo to sign papers at midnight! So Elder Vargas and I had the great privledge of sleeping while he had to go drop of his comp at the terminal, and pick up his new one Elder Torres. So they come strolling back into the house at about 1:30 and they flip on the lights! So Elder Vargas and I are like 'heyy!' but right after, Elder Torres goes to lay on bed and right when he puts his head to the pillow, the bed breaks and he fell to the floor haha. He says creo que hay un problema. Haha he ended up sleeping like that.

Other awesome experiences happened when we just so happened to be neigbors with a pastor of a evangelica iglesia. So almost eveyday we run into someone who tells us that the pastor of their church doesnt allow that they talk with missionaries. So after being a little bit frustrated with that, we decided we would attack the source. So almost eveyday, we started talking a little bit with the pastor, until one day she asked us if we would like to buy some empaƱadas (little things with meat inside) so we said yeah of course, and she ended up giving us a box of them. She said return the box when your done. So while we were eating lunch I was also writing my testimony in the Book of Mormon that we were going to give the pastor. At the end of my testimony I wrote 'return it when you finish it.' So after lunch we went and knocked on the door of the pastor and I told her 'we have a box and a gift for you.' She goes 'oh yeah what is it?' And I said 'the Book of Mormon.' And I opened up to the page where I had written her name and my testimony. I told her it will help you learn more about Christ, and help you preach in your church. and even better it talks about the personal ministry of jesucristo when he was in the americas. She said thank you and walked into the house. After, Elder Vargas and I were imagining her reading from the Book of Mormon in front of everyone in her church. Haha I know miracles can happen.

To finish, I would just like to leave you with a scripture that helped me a ton when I was at the start of mission. In my first area I think I was the most frustrated I had ever been in all my life! I couldn't understand and I couldnt talk with anyone! And I wanted to help them so badly! After praying one night I decided to flip open the scriptures and look at the first verse I saw, and it just so happened to be Doctrine and Covenants 24:8, I read it, and laughed a lil bit, because I knew that our Heavenly father had a lil bit of a sense of humor. It was the perfect answer to my prayers. And from that day on I have been developing patience, knowing that I am not alone.

I love you all fam! P.S. Pray for Walter and his family especially this week! They are going strong for baptism! P.P.S. If you could send me some long sleeved sweaters - would be awesome!

con amor
