Week 34: I feel so privileged to be a part of his team working in his vineyard.

Heyyy! Hows it going fam!! How is the good ole Salt Lake City snow!!? I have never wanted snow soo bad in all my of life!! But we are almost finishing up with summer here in Uruguay.. i think.. bout a month left of the fireball here! But as you can see, we all just finished up with a huge water fight! It was a nice way to cool off! Before the fight we all had shirts made with our names and on the back and then ruined them by putting hand prints of paint all over! Haha will be a good souvenir. (I´ll send a picture)

So the funny story of the week goes to Elder El-bakri (lives in our house, from Brighton, knows Zach Wertz) but before the fight we made a huge missionary-made slingshot to launch the water balloons at about 100 miles per hour! Haha but during the whole fight we had our crew loading and launching. It was a good time! We did all this because it was the week of changes! But nothing changed for me, I will be staying with Elder Vargas, but Elder El-bakri will be with an elder from Samoa! Sadly, ElderWalkely will be leaving the house of heroes!! (Tres Cruces.)

So this week was pretty awesome! We had some amazing miracles and found some awesome families! To begin, we were contacting some houses and we arrived to house that was really in the middle of nowhere, but we knocked the door anyway. The woman that answered the door immediately said that she was evangelica-thinking that it would make us go away. But me and Elder Vargas looked at each other and go ohh yeahhh! That's awesome! And give her a high five! You are the person we are exactly looking for! someone who believes in christ in this crazy world! The women stood there pretty shocked and a little excited and then said yeah come on in! We went on to teach her about the restauracion and the Book of Mormon and she was super excited that there was scripture that was written en las americas! Her name is Claudia and she´s married and has two kids! And her sister in is in love with us too! She responded the same when we talked with her too, saying that she was evanglica and everything, but the spirit was able to soften her up a little bit. When we finished the charla with her she told us that we were different than the other missionaries she had talked with! I can honestly see the Lord softening the hearts of the people here in Uruguay!

Another awesome miracle that happened this week was with the family of Walter, Clarice, and their two sons Enzo and Kevin. We decided to have a lesson in the church, and it turned out to be awesome! Walter and Enzo both accepted to be baptized! And the mom who has been inactive for 16 years promised she would come to church. So the big day Sunday came and while we waited in the church anxiously.. we saw the family pull up in there car, and after 16 YEARS!! of being inactive the amazing Clarice entered into the church of Jesus Christ. When everyone saw that she was there with her family, it was like a party! Everyone started talking to her!! And after, some of the members congratulated us. It was an awesome day! So the dad, Walter, has fecha for the 1st of March and the hijo has fecha for the 8. Hopefully this week we can also get the other son to get with the program! It's a little bit more difficult with Kevin, because he was problems with his girlfriend. But if we could all pray for them it would be awesome!!

I just want to finish by saying that I know that this is the church of Lord himself Jesus Christ. I feel so privileged to be a part of his team working in his vineyard. I know that living the gospel brings us the most happiness in the life. And by living the commandments of our Heavenly Father, we not only have the promise of having a prosperous life, but we are also demonstrating that he can trust in us.

I love you all peeps! Always keep the faith! And never check it at the door!

Con mucho amor y cariƱo,
Elder Watts

  1. It is so obvious that Elder Watts is maturing rapidly in the gospel.
