Como estan todos!
Todos tuvieron una buena semana? Estoy tan feliz que tenemos un miembro nuevo que podemos bienvenir a la familia! ahora yo tengo un sobrino! By the way what his is name?? Me pueden decir en la proxima carta. But thank you for sending all those pictures, they are so stinking dang cute! I havent seen a cuter brudder, sister combination in todo el mundo.
Okay so like I said, I am in Montevideo right now, with all my old district from the CCM!!!! We had to come to Montevideo to sign a paper that would make us legal residents of Uruguay, entonces puede decir que ahora soy un Uruguayan haha. But in order to get here I had to take two buses, I left Bella Union at 8 and then took a bus from Salto at 12:30 at night, so I attempted to catch some zzz on the bus. But after I am done emailing I have to take a bus back to Bella Union so it will be a long day.
But this last week was one to remember, I had my first baptism in the mission with Ana and Sofia! Elder Duke told me that we broke the maldicion (curse). He told me that he didn't have a baptism with his trainer and his trainer didn't have a baptism with his trainer, and so on and so on. But the baptism event was great - so many people came to support. Ana was baptized by her father, and I had the wonderful opportunity of baptizing Sofia. It unfortunately took two tries because the first time her hair didn't go all the way under, and I think she was a little bit afraid of water. But the second time was perfect.
This week we also picked up two new investigadors, both referencias del barrio. Natalia, she is a single mom with young hijo, ella vive en la casa de una familia menos activo. It was funny she made Elder Duke give a prayer in english because she can understand a little bit, but it was even funnier to hear Elder Duke try because it was his first prayer in english for almost 2 years! He still managed to do it without throwing spanish in there haha. The other is the brother of a member, his name is Cristian, and our first lesson that we had with him he told us he didn't have a strong belief in God, but by the end of the our lesson we invited him to offer a prayer to our Father in Heaven and ask if He is there. It was a powerful moment while he prayed to our Father in Heaven for the first time. It was so peaceful in the room, when he closed his prayer. He told us after he prayed that he felt good and that he wants us to come back and teach him again.
I know that our Father in Heaven loves each and every one of his children and that it must make him so happy when we pray for the first time. I know that baptism is the way into the kingdom of heaven and that our Heavenly Father blesses the lives of those who follow the example of his beloved son Jesus Cristo. I know that Sofia and Ana will have the guide of the Holy Ghost always to help choose the right and follow the path that our Heavenly Father desires for them. I love this work. I love you all!
