Hello again!
Times are great here in Buenos Aires!! So today I will talk about the a little bit about the new latinos and about the PROSELITSMO!!
Okay so first I will talk about the first new group of the latinos that came in last tuesday I think...I'm not sure but they are soo awesome!! They are much more friendly and cool than the last group of latinos! Hopefully the last latinos never read this. Okay but anyway for the first time we have latino roommates. Before it was just me, my companion and two other elders from Salt Lake. But now we have Elder Becerra and Elder Santender! And they are both really funny, me and my companion talk to them everyday en espanol and they try to talk to us in english haha so we both learn from each other. I tell them everyday that they are my favorite latinos and that I love them..in Spanish of course.
Okay so moving on to my funny gross story of the letter. So during almuerzo (lunch) on Wednesday there is this latino who loves juevos (eggs) and I guess for this lunch he really loved them so he took like 9 boiled eggs and ate all of them! I was like what the!!! and it gets better - on each egg he puts a whole package of mayo on it! Ewww! Me and Elder Goold were lauging so hard because he eats each egg in one bite! hahahah So that is funny story for you guys this week.
Okay so moving on to proselitismo! I am not going to lie I was very very nervous on Saturday! 1. because it is just me and my companion so both of us hardly knew spanish. and 2. we got dropped off in the middle of Buenos Aires! So we get off the bus and we are just look around and for about 30 minutes we have no idea how we are going to do this. So we decide to pray. After we prayed it was like fear was instanly taken away. So we started to walk down the sidewalk and we would try and talk to people but they would just give us weird looks and walk away, and I don't blame them because we were 2 white boys who were probably saying something that they didn't understand. But it gets better. The first person who decided to hear our message was a young couple and they loved what we had to say and they even wanted to have a Book of Mormon so we told them about it and gave them one. And just like that we said chau and then went on the bus. After that had happened I was in shock. I just realized that my companion and I had placed our first Book of Mormon of our mission in Buenos Aires, in Spanish. It made me realize how much the Lord helps his missionaries and prepares people to receive it. The rest of the day was great, after that we placed all of our copies of the Book of Mormon and talked to so many people about the gospel, It was the first time that I really felt like a missionary. My favorite thing to do is to bear my testimony to people. I love telling them that God loves them and that the gospel can bring them happiness. We go again this saturday so pray for me a lot!!
Thanks for all the emails it makes me so happy to hear from you all!
Con amor,
Elder Watts
