Hey! how is my familia american doing!? Because right now I am loving my familia uruguaya! This week, EG (elder gamarra) and I worked our butts off! I have never been so tired in my life! But it really is the best kind of tired feeling. This week we had to run home almost everyday because there were so many people to visit and talk to, that there isn't enough time in the day! So we are always find ourselves running to make it on time! And then I always collapse on the ground after! Pero llegamos a tiempo, y somos obedientes!! (But we are on time and obedient!)
The funny story of the week goes to EG after church. And may I say we had to save a humming bird that made his way in and couldn't find his way out, but with the help of the missionaries and the second counselor we saved the little guy. Anyway after church we always have lunch with a family that lives wayyy lejos and it is always a fun time to try and make it to there house without getting dirty. When we were crossing a little creek of mud, all the gringos jumped across and then we all waited for EG, so he began to get ready and when he went to jump....he didn;t make it haha and his feet sunk into the mud. Haha entonces we had to go to the house after so that we could change. But award of funny story of the week goes to EG.
This week, EG and I really focused on finding news, we talked with a lot of great people but 2 of them really are amazing ! One of them is Walter and the other is Andrea! First with andrea, we still haven't had the chance to talk with her husband because they are having trouble finding work, and the husband is traveling around trying to find work. When we first met her she really was burdened down and she told us that her family (she also has a son) is having trouble finding money to maintain themselves. And the more she opened up to us she told us that she felt alone and that God had forgetten about her and her family, so we asked if she had ever prayed before and she told us no, so of course we taught her about the prower of prayer! By the end of the lesson she was so excited to pray and she told us she would pray everyday. And when we finished the lesson with a prayer, she began to cry and told us that she has never felt so peaceful before, she really is amazing and all she wants to do is learn! Hey!
With Walter, he his the husband of a less active member, but he is awesome because he has so much faith and he always so happy to visit with us and tell us all the things he learned from reading the folletos! Haha he studies them like crazy! Like Andrea, all he wants to do is learn how he can follow Christ in his life, and I love that we can be their guides so that they can follow in the footsteps our of Savior. As a side note with Clea, we had a lot of problems with her, so I only ask that you pray for her, as well as one of our other investigators Maria Elena who is in the hospital.
The scripture of the week is 3 Nefi 17: 14, 21, 22 (really the whole chapter is awesome) but I know that our Savior really does watch over us and He cries when we fall and also He cries from joy when we choose what is right. He really does care about us so much, He is always there is pick us up and brush us off, through the wonderful gift of repentance.
I love you all my family, I hope you had a great thanksgiving! And that you ate a bunch of turkey! I am so grateful for you guys and for all the support he give me every week! I couldn't do this wonderful work without you guys!
